SUMMARY:UA Fotocat Contest
DESCRIPTION:The University of Arizona invites amateur photographers to bring their cameras to campus and enter their best photographs in the UA FotoCat Contest. The contest is a joint project of the UA\, Tucson Newspapers and the Arizona Daily Star. Winning photos will be showcased in the Star and will be featured in a photo exhibit at the Kachina Gallery at the Student Union Memorial Center. They may also be used to promote the UA\, if you agree to it.   We are looking for photos in the following categories\:    Wildcat Fans at Arizona Athletics Events  Families on UA Campus  Students - Campus Life  Alumni Photographers  Events on Campus Campus Scenery  Photos can be submitted online. Readers of the Arizona Daily Star and professional photographers will choose the winners. In entering the contest\, you agree that your photo may be used online and in the Star in coverage and promotions related to the contest\, and in an exhibit at the University to feature the top entries. Beyond the contest\, the University might be interested in using your photo for promotional purposes. It's optional\, not a part of the contest\, and you do not have to sign the University agreement to enter the contest.

SUMMARY:R.A.D. Self Defense Classes
DESCRIPTION:The University of Arizona Women's Resource Center and the Oasis Program offer self defense classes\, which are a mental and physical tool to empower women-identified individuals and heighten awareness.Classes run over two days\, include 12 hours of curriculum\, are taught by a R.A.D-certified (Rape Aggregation Defense) instructor and are free of charge. SUMMARY:A Spectacular Conjunction of Jupiter and Venus Plus \"My Months on Mars\"  
DESCRIPTION:Venus and Jupiter\, the two normally brightest planets in our sky\, are moving closer in skies worldwide\, and will group in the most spectacular conjunction of two planets seen in several years at the end of November. The two reach just over 2 degrees apart in our sky on Nov. 29\, and are slightly closer on Nov. 30. Until Dec. 1 (when the two planets lie nearly parallel)\, look for bright\, whitish Jupiter in the southwestern sky above brighter Venus. Jupiter and Venus are both highest each evening in evening twilight but lose altitude early\, setting in the west-southwest around 8\:20 p.m. during the last week of November.  The public is invited to join Flandrau\, the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association  and UA Students for the Exploration and Development of Space for special free telescope viewing of this planetary duo\, and other celestial objects. Donations are encouraged. The public also is invited to attend a special talk by Patrick Woida\, Phoenix Mars Scout Mission senior engineer at The University of Arizona. Woida will talk about the recent Mars exploration with the Mars Phoenix Mission\, detailing what we've learned and have yet to understand\, and will describe and tie in to this spectacular planetary grouping of Venus and Jupiter. His presentation will start at 8 p.m. both nights\, last about 45 minutes and costs $7.50 per person for adults.
