SUMMARY:The Commission on the Status of Women 2011 Vision Awards
DESCRIPTION:The University of Arizona Commission on the Status of Women created the Vision Awards program in 1999 to honor leaders who manage their units in ways that exemplify the vision set out by the original ABOR Commission in 1990. University staff\, faculty\, graduate and undergraduate students and administrators are encouraged to nominate individuals who cultivate diversity and advance the CSW goals relating to campus climate\, career and professional development\, and compensation and equity. Nomination packets must be received by 5 p.m. Nov. 10.Up to three recognition awards will be presented Jan. 26 at a reception to honor the recipients. Current UA employees with the title of Dean\, Department Head\, Director\, Chair and those in positions with significant personnel oversight responsibilities are eligible for nomination. Personnel in classified staff positions may well be suitable for consideration. Submissions must consist of two items\: A completed nomination form A nomination letter describing the nominee's qualifications. The letter must not exceed four pages prepared as a single-spaced\, 12-point type document. Nominators may be contacted by the Evaluation Committee for additional information. Nominators and award recipients will be notified by phone and electronic mail on or before Dec. 7. A confirmation letter will follow by campus mail confirming the award.

SUMMARY:Tucson Village Farm Harvest Festival 
DESCRIPTION:The Tucson Village Farm is hosting a family-friendly event called the Taste of the Harvest Festival.    \"The Harvest Festival will be a cross between your local Farmers Market and Costco\,\" said Elizabeth Sparks\, UA Assistant Agent for 4-H Youth Development for the Tucson Village Farm.  \"There will be farm samples galore!  We want to use this as an opportunity to share what we do and what we grow and give people some help on ways to eat healthy\,\" said Sparks.  There will also be live cooking demonstrations\, produce for purchase\, gardening tips\, kids' activities\, a petting zoo and a raffle.    The Tucson Village Farm is a program of the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and partners with the Arizona Nutrition Network to accomplish its goals of reconnecting young people to a healthy food system\, teaching them how to grow and prepare fresh food and empowering them to make healthy life choices.
