SUMMARY:Yoga Stretch and Relaxation to Reduce Arthritis Pain
DESCRIPTION:Part of a series of Living Healthy with Arthritis monthly talks presented by the Arizona Arthritis Center at The University of Arizona College of Medicine.Learn gentle yoga postures that can be used to reduce arthritis-related pain and reverse its negative effects on your body. Pain is both physically and emotionally stressful. It can cause muscles to tighten\, breathing to become fast and shallow\, and heart rate and blood pressure to increase. This ultimately results in more pain. Relaxation has been shown to reverse these effects while improving a sense of control and well being\, making it easier to manage pain. Relaxation involves learning ways to calm and control your body and mind.Prior registration is requested since space is limited. Contact MIchelle Cornett to register. Wear comfortable clothes.
