The Campaign 2008 Bus "Road to the White House" tour will stop at the UA on Friday, Nov. 7 starting at 10 a.m.

The University of Arizona campus will be one of the next stops on C-SPAN's Campaign 2008 Bus "Road to the White House" tour, allowing UA students, employees and visitors to join the thousands of people who have boarded the bus across the country.

The C-SPAN Campaign 2008 Bus will set up on the UA Mall on Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The 45-foot mobile production studio is on the campaign trail to promote and enhance C-SPAN's comprehensive political coverage. It is currently traveling to major political events such as the recent presidential debates and conventions.

Since its January 2007 launch, the bus has been to 43 state capitals, 145 universities and 239 schools where 816 elected officials, 8,947 teachers, more than 52,400 students and 4 former presidential candidates have been on board.

"With the 2008 presidential campaign coming to a close, we are eager to talk with UA students about this historic election." said Erin Patton, C-SPAN marketing representative. "It will be a great opportunity to welcome students aboard the Campaign Bus and introduce them to our free C-SPAN classroom resources."

According to Patton, people who board the bus will have the opportunity to discuss who they voted for in the presidential election and the reasons for their vote. Many of the recorded comments will appear on C-SPAN's channel on YouTube.

"I might actually be more fun because our visit comes after Election Day," Patton said. "We will be able to talk to students about where they were watching the election returns."

C-SPAN was created in 1979 by America's cable companies as a public service. C-SPAN is currently available in 93 million households, C-SPAN2 in 82 million households, and C-SPAN3 in more than 13 million households nationwide.
