Garwood Loop Day Hike in Saguaro National Park East for International Students

The University of Arizona department of campus recreation Outdoor Activities invites UA international students on a day hike in Saguaro National Park East.

See the Sonoran desert, the only place in the world with saguaro cactus, on this five mile hike. This trail will go to historic sites of the Garwood Family homestead, including the old home and water tanks stocked with goldfish from cowboy days. Enjoy thick vegetation and spot animals that thrive on this habitat. Also, views of Rincon Peak, the Catalina Mountains, and the city of Tucson will spread out before you.

This trail has about 700 feet of elevation change. Previous hiking experience is recommended. Sturdy footwear is required. The trip will take 5-6 hours, with the hike being 3-4 hours long.

Register by Oct. 31 to reserve space on this trip.

Pay when you sign up and fill out Outdoor Adventures Health Statement. Bring Health Insurance information upon sign-up.

Transportation, snacks, leadership and instruction will be provided by Outdoor Adventures.
