This exhibit examines the centrality of maiz to Mexican American culture and features the work of 40 undergraduate students.
It examines the historic role of the Three Sisters – corn, beans and squash – and Los Tres Amigos del Pobre or the Three Friends of the Poor – corn, beans and chile – in this culture.
It examines the connections as exhibited in ancient codices, historic chronicles and oral traditions, plus the daily dialogue they have with maiz.
The unveiling will be followed by a celebration at Cesar Chavez, Room 205 at noon.
