Arizona Athletics still has tickets for the 2008 Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl.
Arizona Athletics still has tickets to the Dec. 20 bowl game between Arizona and Brigham Young University.
The University of Arizona's athletics organization also has discounted packets for travel and hotels for those who plan on going to Nevada for the 2008 Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl.
"What's important now is that the only place to go and get tickets is through our site," said James Francis, an associate athletics director.
"There was some confusion about whether the tickets were sold out, but both teams have an allotment of 12,000 tickets each," he said. "We don't get an allotment anywhere near this compared to other away games."
For information about tickets, travel packets hotels, visit the 2008 Las Vegas Bowl Central site Arizona Athletics is hosting.
"We've coordinated everything with our partners," Francis said.
Arizona Athletics intends to close the ticket sales at 5 p.m. on Dec. 12, and ticket orders will be assigned beginning Dec. 13. This means that all orders for tickets must be sent by 5 p.m. on Dec. 12.
Anyone can purchase tickets over the phone or in person, but Arizona Athletics is urging people to purchase tickets online.
Numerous events will also be held leading up to the game.
An alumni and friends event will be held in Las Vegas on Dec. 17 when the football team attends "Stomp Out Loud." A two for one special ticket sale is being held for those attending the bowl game.
Then, on Dec. 19, a kickoff luncheon will be held featuring NFL quarterback Joe Theismann. The noon luncheon will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and a limited number of tickets, at $40 each, are available. Theismann is also serving as the featured speaker. To purchase tickets, call 702-732-3912.
A cheer and dance clinic will also be held on Dec. 19. The clinic, led by Arizona cheerleaders and dance teams, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. and is open to children who are between the ages of 5 and 16. The cost is $45. To register, call 702-617-9730.
UA fans and alumni will also hold a pep rally on Dec. 19 at the Fremont Street Experience, located on Third Street in Las Vegas. The event will begin at 6 p.m.
Then, on Dec. 20, the UA Alumni Association will host a tailgate party at the Star Nursery Fields, which is located on the north side of Sam Boyd Stadium. The event will run from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The Bud Light Pregame Party will also be held, but from noon to 5 p.m., and will include games, music, food, bands and more.
"The fact that we should go to a destination with events scheduled days before the event means there is just more in terms of what surrounds the game," Francis said. "Obviously, the lead up to it is exciting and just changes everyone's approach. And, for us, it's been 10 long years, so not only is it exciting, but it will also be fun."
