Early Book Lectures VI: The Old Testament Gets Medieval: Saint Louis and the Morgan Crusader Bible

Paul Milliman, assistant professor of history, launchs an annual exploration of early book history with a presentation titled "The Old Testament Gets Medieval: Saint Louis and the Morgan Crusader Bible."

Milliman will analyze 13th century views on holy war and kingship by considering the life of King Louis IX of France and the Old Testament miniatures in the Morgan Crusader Bible. This is the first of four lectures in February, which are part of Early Book Lectures VI, an annual series sponsored by The University of Arizona Libraries Special Collections and the Friends of the UA Libraries.
