21st Annual Leonard and David Schaeffer Memorial Guitar Competition

The University of Arizona School of Music presents the 21st Annual Leonard and David Schaeffer Memorial Guitar Competition.

Sponsored by the Leonard and David Schaeffer Memorial Endowment, this competition honors the memories of Leonard, David and their father, Albert Schaeffer, by showcasing the exemplary talents of the UA guitar studio.

A major international center for the study of classical guitar, the UA draws students from around the world, and past winners of the Leonard and David Schaeffer Memorial Guitar Competition have gone on to win top prizes in international guitar competitions.

UA guitar students have garnered prestigious awards that include Fulbright scholarships and National Endowment for the Arts and Rotary fellowships, and they are well represented in numerous universities and conservatories in the United States and throughout the world.

Admission: $9 general; $7 UA employees and seniors 55 and up; $5 students
