Earth Hour at UA

Earth Hour

Earth Hour events will be held at the UA Saturday night.

The University of Arizona Residence Life and the Union Gallery are co-hosting activities during Earth Hour on Saturday.

During Earth Hour, cities and communities around the world will turn off lights for one hour.

At the UA, the event will be held on the UA Mall from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. It will include arts and crafts, games and entertainment. The Charles Darwin Experience, a UA student-run improve troupe, will be performing during the event.

An Earth Hour "Star Party" will also be held on the UA Mall just south of Flandrau: The UA Science Center.

The star party will be hosted by the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association, the UA's Steward Observatory Public Evening Series Lectures and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory.

TAAA astronomers will set up telescopes and share their expertise with families who want to learn more about the night sky.

Also, TAAA along with Friends of Sabino Canyon will be hosting a second star party in Sabino Canyon. Both star party events are free and open to the public and will be held 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
