Tucson Cine Mexico Festival Conversation

Tucson Cine

Laura Gutierrez, of the department of Spanish and Portuguese, and Vicky Westover, director of the Hanson Film Institute at The University of Arizona's School of Media Arts, invite the community to join them in discussing the films presented at the 2009 Tucson Cine Mexico, scheduled for March 26-29 and April 3-4. The festival is the only premiere film festival in the United States focusing entirely on the work of Mexican directors. This year's line-up features a mix of award-winning contemporary films, documentaries, and vintage 1950-60s science fiction. Join this discussion whether you catch the Mexican films or not. The dialogue will be a unique opportunity to discover the richness and variety of Mexican films from experts in the field. This conversation is part of Humanities Week at the UA. To see the complete calendar of events – free and open to the public – go to the College of Humanities Web site and click on "Humanities Week 2009."
