The newest exhibit in the Main Library's Research West area, "The History of Red/Brown Journalism and Communications," showcases ancient to contemporary media with special emphasis on the work of women writers, editors and publishers from the late 1800s, early 1900s and the 1960s and 1970s. The exhibit, created by the students in Roberto Rodriguez's History of Red/Brown Journalism and Communications class, coincides with the Voices for Justice Project, which is celebrating 200 years of Latino/Latina journalism. The exhibit is also part of a larger class project involving a commemorative newspaper, a student symposium and a Cinco de Mayo program at the Student Union Memorial Center.
