'On Our Own Time' Showcases Employee Artwork

No artistic background or experience is required to participate in the annual art exhibit for UA staff and appointed personnel.
Whimsical paintings, photographs of the desert in bloom, even a stuffed fabric version of Tucson's Old Pueblo Trolley, with postage stamp-sized passengers like President Barack Obama and University of Arizona President Robert N. Shelton on board, are just a few of the pieces on display at this year's "On Our Own Time" staff art exhibit, which opened Friday in the Student Union Memorial Center's Union Gallery. The annual exhibit, put on by the Staff Advisory Council, features artwork created by UA staff and appointed personnel when they're off the clock. This year's show, on display through May 29, includes 87 pieces from creative campus employees. You can catch a glimpse of their talents in the viedo, "Staff Art Exhibit Showcases Hidden Talents."
