The 15th annual Fathers of the Year Awards Dinner and Gala, hosted by Loews Ventana Canyon, will be held on June 13. No-host cocktails and a silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. in the grand ballroom foyer, followed by the awards dinner honoring the 2009 Fathers of the Year: Les White, Subway Restaurants multi-franchise owner; Gary Kippur, president of Tucson Iron and Metal; Rick Fink, restauranteur and owner of Hacienda del Sol, Zona 78 and Harvest restaurants; and Jose Rincon, therapeutic specialist for Pfizer, Inc.

Tucson has the only Father’s Day Council chapter in the United States whose fundraising efforts directly benefit a local community organization. We are proud of our partnership with the Steele Children’s Research Center at The University of Arizona and the dedicated physicians and scientists who are working hard to find new treatments, and someday a cure, for Type 1 diabetes.
