DESCRIPTION:    An invitation and call for papers ...  This meeting is free and open to all persons\: Please call this meeting to the attention of your colleagues\, students and friends.  The USA National Phenology Network\, or USA-NPN\, and the southwest region of the American Society for Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing  present a symposium on \"Phenology Research and Observations of Southwest Ecosystems\,\" or PROSE.   The keynote speaker is Abraham Miller-Rushing of the USA-NPN\, who will speak on \"Henry David Thoreau's Contribution to Climate Change Science\: How Climate Change is Restructuring Ecological Communities.\"  Among his many eccentric activities\, Thoreau kept meticulous records of flowering and other phenological events. Miller-Rushing will describe how he and his colleagues have used Thoreau's records to provide novel insights into rapid\, climate-driven changes in plant and animal populations.  Register for the free conference and submit abstracts online    Please note that abstracts - 300 words\, including title\, keywords\, authors and their affiliation - must be submitted online by Sept. 10.
