The UA Beta Group Open Enrollment Dinner will feature a talk by keynote speaker Leslie D. Porter on "Starting Fresh Without Staring Over: Taking Charge of Your Career."
Does your career path look like it needs to take a detour? Are you wondering if you can reinvent your career without quitting your job? What does "job advancement" look like in today's economic climate?
A turbulent economy and budget uncertainties have caused many people at the UA to rethink their careers – sometimes without choice. Some employees sense that they aren't going to continue on their current path but don't know exactly how the new path looks. Others feel that they are slated in a role without growth opportunities or one that no longer inspires them. Finally, some are seeking opportunities to reposition themselves through all the change and transformation. In this engaging keynote address, you will hear key strategies for taking a thoughtful, realistic and proactive approach to figuring out you next career steps.
Porter has worked as a human resources professional at the UA for more than 19 years. She currently serves as director of HR consulting and talent management, with oversight for HR consulting – including training and development, employee and career advising, and recruitment and employment.
