The Peter W. Likins Inclusive Excellence Awards

Please joins us as we congratulate the recipients of the 2009 Peter W. Likins Inclusive Excellence Awards.

Faculty recipients:

  • Richard Ruiz, professor of language, reading and culture
  • William Yslas Vélez, University Distinguished Professor of mathematics

Staff and staff organization recipients:

  • Catalina Carlos, equity, access and inclusion adviser
  • The Office of Outreach and Multicultural Affairs, College of Medicine

Student organization recipient:

  • Social Justice Symposium planning committee
  • Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health
  • Mexican American Studies and Research Center 

The annual award was established to recognize individuals or groups who, through their inclusive programs or leadership, enhance the UA's academic distinction.

President Robert N. Shelton will present awards to the recipients during a special reception in their honor. Please also join us for a dessert reception from 3-4 p.m., also in honor of the recipients.
