Arizona opens a three-game homestand against the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday.
The Arizona Wildcats open a three-game homestand against the Stanford Cardinals on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with the game televised live on the Versus Network.
The UA has treated the home faithful to a run of nine victories in the last 11 games played at Arizona Stadium. The Cats have protected their turf posting the best stretch of home wins since Arizona won 11-of-13 home contests in the 1997-99 seasons.
The UA's 2-0 home record in 2009 has pushed Mike Stoops' home record to 18-17 in his five plus seasons in Tucson.
The game pits UA's Nick Foles versus Stanford's Andrew Luck – quarterbacks who have shown pass efficiency strength.
Arizona's 17th-rated defense takes on a stern test in Stanford's 13th-rated rushing offense spearheaded by the league's leading rusher, Toby Gerhart, who checks in this week at fourth in the country in rushing.
The game coincides with the UA's Family Weekend.
Family Weekend is a chance for UA students to invite family and friends visit the campus and explore the University through a wide range of activities and programs.
A pre-game ZonaZoo Tailgate party will be held at 4 p.m. on the UA Mall, and the Family Weekend BBQ will follow the game with a fireworks display at the end of the evening.
