Presentation: Legal Landscape for Transgender People

Attorney Abigail Jensen will talk about the unique legal challenges that transgender people face as they transform their lives to match mind and body and live as their authentic selves, including employment rights and the challenges of changing name and gender on driver’s licenses, passports, birth certificates and other documents on which our legal identities depend. Bring your questions and your own experiences to share with the group. This presentation is sponsored by the Law Students for Reproductive Justice and PrideLaw.

Jensen is a trans woman and attorney from Prescott, Ariz. She is also president of QsquaredYouth, an education, support and advocacy organization for LGBTQ youth in Yavapai County; a member of the boards of directors of the Prescott Area Women's Shelter and TransMentors International; and a general rabble rouser on issues of equal rights for transgender, as well as lesbian, gay and bisexual, people.
