Why Humanists Should Care About Computer Games - A Humanities Week Presentation

Humanities Week

University of Arizona English professor Ken McAllister offers insights into the seemingly conflicting worlds of traditional humanities study and computer gaming. A specialist in rhetoric and an articulate promoter of the value of humanities in contemporary contexts, McAllister also brings to the table extensive exploration of the digital world in his position as co-director of the Learning Games Initiative, an international organization that studies, teaches wit, and builds computer games in educational contexts. McAllister is currently serving as Interim Associate Dean of the College of Humanities.

This free presentation is part of a week-long series of talks and cultural events offered by the College of Humanities as its second annual "Humanities Week." Find a complete listing of the March 24-31 events, held at venues on campus and in downtown Tucson, online.
