Arizona Public Media, UANews Receive Emmy Nominations

Two University of Arizona units have been nominated for Rocky Mountain Emmy awards this year.

Reporters with the Arizona Public Media and Will Holst, video communications manager for UANews, were each nominated in a range of categories.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Science's Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter announced the nominations earlier this week. The 2010 Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards ceremony will be held Oct. 9 in Phoenix.

Holst, earned three Emmy nominations: one for "The Message of Mandala" in the category of religion story/feature; another for "The Surveyors" in the category of historic/cultural news story; and one in the news producer category.

UANews earned another nomination for excellence in interactivity. It was the only nominee in that category.

Arizona Public Media was the most recognized public news organization in the region with 22 individual nominations – up from 12 nominations a year ago.
