Early Book Lectures VI - Everyday Life in the Margins of the Medieval Book: The Luttrell Psalter

Tuesday, February 10, 2009
2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.

Albrecht Classen, professor in the department of German studies, introduces one of the most spectacular late-medieval English manuscripts, the Luttrell Psalter. The fabulous illustrations depict a wide range of life on an estate including labor, animals, people, fruit and countless other grotesque features and enigmatic images. This is the second of four lectures in February that are part of Early Book Lectures VI, an annual lecture series sponsored by The University of Arizona Libraries Special Collections and the Friends of the UA Libraries.
