
February is Heart Month – learn everything you need to know to keep your heart going strong from the experts at The University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center! The goal of this event is to help people better understand their risks for cardiovascular disease, put the latest research findings into perspective and give them the knowledge they need to ask their doctor the right questions.
A panel of Sarver Heart Center experts will be available to answer questions about cardiovascular health, heart disease and current treatment options. Blood pressure and blood glucose screenings will be offered.
Speakers include Dr. Gordon A. Ewy, director of the Sarver Heart Center; Dr. Lori Mackstaller, women's heart disease expert; and Leslie Ritter, stroke expert. Topics include "Heart Disease Risks and Prevention," "Heart Health for Women," "Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Co.," "What You Need to Know about Stroke" and "Interventional Cardiology – Stents, Balloons and Angiograms."
