UA President will meet May 11 with local business leaders to emphasize UA connection to Arizona's economic success

By Jeff Harrison May 7, 1999

The struggle for gender equality doesn't have to be a battle between the sexes. Learn how to unravel the "gender knot" with Allan Johnson, author, teacher and speaker at a lecture Friday, Feb. 11, from 1-3:30 p.m. in the College of Education Kiva Auditorium.

Johnson draws upon stimulating theories, asks thoughtful questions, and facilitates fascinating discussions that illuminate hidden assumptions we carry with us about men and women.

He will explore why men should care about gender equality and get involved in these issues, how men and women can find common ground for productive and non-defensive conversations, and what assumptions and expectations the genders make.

Johnson is the author of The Gender Knot: Unraveling our Patriarchal Legacy.
