Teammates Eben Britton and Mike Thomas were both selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars during the National Football League's Draft held this weekend.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected two University of Arizona football players in the National Football League Draft held in New York City over the weekend.

Eben Britton was selected in the second round and joins UA teammate Mike Thomas who was picked in the fourth round.

Britton, an offensive tackle for the Wildcats, shunned his final year of eligibility to enter the draft and was rewarded as the seventh pick in the second round by Jacksonville.

At 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, Britton was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection after he helped lead the Cats to an 8-5 record and Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl victory over Brigham Young University in 2008. He was a second-team pick in 2007 as a sophomore.

Britton, who redshirted in 2005, started at right tackle for two years and at left tackle his final season, earning acclaim as a gifted pass protector and run-blocker with outstanding technique.

Arizona receiver Mike Thomas was selected as the seventh pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Sunday.

Thomas, 5-foot-8, 195 pounds, is the Pac-10's career receptions leader with 259 and one of Arizona's top all-purpose performers in school history. He earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors at two spots in 2008, as a receiver and punt returner.

Thomas had 74 receptions for 824 yards and four scores in 2008 after personal-bests of 83 grabs for 1,038 yards and 11 touchdowns his junior year. His 23 receiving touchdowns are third on the UA chart, tied with Bobby Wade.
