Apollo Moon Landing 40th Anniversary Celebration

2 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory is hosting an open house celebration in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing!

From 2-5 p.m. Activities include displays (including lunar meteorites), children’s activities, solar viewing, 3D Apollo images, lectures, a NASA documentary of the flight of Apollo 15, liquid nitrogen ice cream and more

"Where did Neil Armstrong leave his backpack?" by James V. Scotti, LPL senior research specialist, Kuiper Room 308, 6-6:50 p.m.

“40th Anniversary of Apollo 11 Lunar Landing,” by Robert G. Strom, professor emeritus, Kuiper Room 308, 7-7:50 p.m.

Physics Factory for Kids, Kuiper Room 330, 2-5 p.m.
