CPAs Offer Insights, Answer Questions During 'Tax Tips Week'

"Arizona Illustrated," southern Arizona's news magazine, teams with area finance experts to answer tax questions from viewers for the 19th consecutive year.

Arizona Public Media is teaming with the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Bank of Arizona to answer viewers' tax questions free of charge for "Arizona Illustrated's" annual Tax Tips Week beginning Monday, Feb. 8 and running until Thursday, Feb. 11.

During this week a team of volunteer Arizona CPAs will answer tax questions at the National Bank of Arizona from "Arizona Illustrated" viewers. The hotline number is 520-584-6220 and is available from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Viewers also are invited to post their questions for the CPAs on the Arizona Public Media Facebook page.

"Arizona Illustrated" Tax Tips Week also features tax-related segments and studio interviews with CPAs, including Jan Flanagan, Lori Hoby, Bill Stephens, Richard Bratt and Michael C. Flowers. Topics scheduled for discussion include charitable giving, standard deduction changes, car and home purchases and capital-loss carryovers.

"This is a wonderful service that we have been able to offer our viewers for almost two decades," said "Arizona Illustrated" Host Bill Buckmaster.

"Arizona Illustrated" can be seen weeknights at 6:30 p.m. on PBS-HD Channel 6, and again at 9 p.m. on PBS World channel 27.3 (Cox 83 and Comcast 203). More information is on the Arizona Public Media Web site.
