AHSC Search for Vice President/Dean Begins

The Arizona Health Sciences Center (AHSC) is launching a national search to fill the dual position of vice president for Health Sciences and dean of the College of Medicine.

Provost George Davis will convene a new search committee including former members of the now-dismissed search committee for the dean of medicine, plus outstanding faculty, staff, chairs, and student representatives, members from all of the AHSC colleges, clinical and basic sciences, community members, women and underrepresented minority groups, and individuals from outside Tucson.

William Dantzler, chair of physiology and a past member of the last search committee, will serve as chair of the search.

The search process will continue until a final candidate is recruited, with the goal being to welcome the candidate aboard in July, 2001.
